Why was I surprised to hear I had a labral tear when my symptoms were punching me in the face? Because I was really, really hoping I didn't have a labral tear. I knew I had FAI, but there was still this glimmer of hope that I could manage without surgery. But, there's not much you can do without surgery for a labral tear. As so often happens, the tear didn't show up clear enough on my first MRI to truly confirm it. Until today it was a suspicion...and a suspicion leaves a lot of room for questions.
I meet with Dr. Byrd on Friday to discuss a game plan. I will keep you posted.
