Yes, I'm a rule breaker, but I couldn't help myself. Actually, it wasn't even planned. I was late getting to the Pool for the Ai Chi class, which is a Tai Chi type pool workout, great for achy joints. So, I gravitated slowly to the yoga class down the hall and whispered to the teacher that I was 5 weeks post-op hip surgery but wanted to see what the old girl could do.
Keep in mind here, I've practiced yoga for years & I've soaked up about all the info a brain can hold on what NOT to do after a labral repair. I still followed all the rules, no external rotation. But, I was able to modify when needed and listen to my body. And the teacher was kind enough to focus on hamstrings at my request:)
It was a basic yoga with a lot of restorative type poses, very soothing and it felt AMAZING. It's not unusual for me to bust out crying in a yoga class, but today I was grinning with my eyes closed.
And to think I wasn't even supposed to be off my crutches until this Thursday!!!
